
In september, Kobo gives us an accidental sneak peek at the tablet. And in October, the E-reader manufacturer make it true. Kobo quietly launches its first Android tablet named Vox with 7-inch display, Gingerbread, $199 price tag. According to Welch, the social aspect even influenced the Vox’s name: “Vox” is short for vox populi, or the “voice of the people”. Now it’s up to that audience to open their wallets, as well.
Kobo called the Vox as the world’s first social e-book reader. The reason is very simple. The andorid-based tablet combines Kobo’s Reading life which allows users to link their reading life to Facebook, tracking progress, earning awards, and establishing the reading club.
