We’re well aware of the heartbreaking difficulties surrounding the seasonal shopping experience, so we’re here to help you sort out this year’s tech treasures. I am really just focusing on ONLY one categories here: Tablets.

Of all the electronic gifts you could buy someone right now, a tablet seems like one of the safer bets. But it is isn’t very easy to know which PC tablet is the best buy, either for yourself or as a gift for someone else. Many choices now exist, with the major players like Samsung and Apple being taken on by small manufacturers for the title of best tablet. Ultimately, the choice you make hinges on which specific features are a “must have” from this device.

Sadly, we don’t have any webOS-flavored tablets this time around, and we couldn’t include some hotly anticipated numbers like the Transformer Prime, since they’re not shipping yet and we don’t even know much they’ll cost. There’s little debating that tablets have become a huge hit and will be a major factor in the future growth of the PC market. People around the globe are flocking to stores to get their hands on everything from Apple’s iPad 2 to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to the Amazon Kindle Fire. And along the way, they’re helping those prominent companies generate millions of dollars in new revenue and their pushing other firms to join the fray.

Easily the most important company yet to make a mark in the tablet market is Microsoft. The software giant has acknowledged the importance of tablets in the past, but it has so far been unable to gain any significant market share. But with Windows 8, Microsoft hopes to change that. Now it looks like a host of vendors, including Dell, HP and others, are planning to help Microsoft achieve its goal.

Mystery e-reader: Kobo Vox Android Tablet quietly came to us

In september, Kobo gives us an accidental sneak peek at the tablet. And in October, the E-reader manufacturer make it true. Kobo quietly launches its first Android tablet named Vox with 7-inch display, Gingerbread, $199 price tag. According to Welch, the social aspect even influenced the Vox’s name: “Vox” is short for vox populi, or the “voice of the people”. Now it’s up to that audience to open their wallets, as well.

Kobo called the Vox as the world’s first social e-book reader. The reason is very simple. The andorid-based tablet combines Kobo’s Reading life which allows users to link their reading life to Facebook, tracking progress, earning awards, and establishing the reading club. Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet: what you need to know

Nook tablet release date, specs, features and Comparison with the popular tablets

As expected, bookstore mega-chain Barnes & Noble has launched its answer to Amazon’s Kindle Fire. The new Nook Tablet will bring a 7-inch VividView Color Touchscreen displays 16 million colors ultra-bright with a resolution of 1024×600 (169PPI), a dual core processor & 1 GB of RAM, a 16GB of built-in memory, which is further expandable by way of a microSD slot. Moreover, The Nook Tablet supports videos up to 1080p and 11.5 hours of battery life. The tablet is all about multimedia content, naturally, offering up from Netflix and Hulu Plus pre-loaded on the device.

The Tablet will cost you $249 ($50 more than the competition from Amazon). Pre-orders begin now (6th, Nov.), and the slate will start shipping next week (16th, Nov.). Thus the B&N also constitutes a new product line Simple Touch, Color, Tablet versus Amazon’s Kindle, Touch, Fire.

Unique 8.2-inch screen – Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition Revealed

On November 3, Motorola officially revealed two new the Series Tablet of Xoom2 in Europe. In addition to a common 10.1-inch tablet, it also comes with a “non-mainstream” 8.2-inch slate called Xoom 2 Media Edition.

The Xoom 2 Media Edition features a Gorilla glass Protection screen which can effectively scratch and possesses the anti-liquid Spillers function. It also promises a 20-percent improvement over the original Xoom in the graphics department, which, along with a 178 degree viewing angle make the tablet optimized for media consumption, as the name implies. And the built-in sound effects can enhance bass output and it features integrated remote control home appliances.

Like the Xoom 2, The Media Edition still measures up at 0.35 inches thick. and packs in the same 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 3.2, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage. It also offers up front and rear-facing cameras at 1.3 megapixel and five megapixel, respectively, plus Motorola’s new Splash-guard protection. Both the two tablets are looking to appeal to business types, with QuickOffice, Evernote and Twonky (that means DLNA-compatible streaming) all pre-installed. Fortunately, Motorola has already announced that yes, like the new-released Eee Pad Transformer Prime, the two new Xooms can both expect a lick of Ice Cream Sandwich(Android 4.0) update some time after launch.

Both the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition are set to launch in the UK and Ireland later this month. The Media Edition is priced up at £329.99.
